Change Team:
Official Announcement
by posted 11/19/2020

Hello Parents and Players -

It's with a heavy heart that I send this email to you all.  As you probably are all aware, the MN Governor announced last night new restrictions to assist in the slow of the spread of COVID-19 here in MN.

This announcement officially haults all EP fastpitch activities for the next 4 weeks.  That includes any practices or games that were scheduled between now and December 19th.  As we get closer to the end of the EO timeframe, we will communicate the go forward plan to you.

While we are bummed about having to oush pause right now - your families and your health are the most important to our association and we are confident that this is the right thing to do as cases in MN continue to grow.

It's been a wild roller coaster ride we have all been on since March but we will all get to the end of the ride together if we continue to take the precautions and stay safe and healthy.

If you have any questions or need anything please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the coaches at any time.

If you need ideas for workouts the girls can do at home, or anything like that, please reach out.  Or just let them take the break - some of them probably could use it anyway. :)

Stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.

Thank you,

Jen Hendrickson

Using Facebook and GameChanger for tonight's game
by posted 11/14/2020

Hi families!

As Chad stated in a previous email, Braemar Dome is NOT allowing more than 5 adults per team to be inside the dome. With 3 coaches, that allows for only 2 spectators. Our first game is very exciting, to the player as well as their family, but we need to respect their rules or they may ban/suspend our team from playing in future games. We appreciate your full cooperation in this matter. It is our hope that these restrictions will ease in the future (likely when COVID cases in MN trend downwards and not upwards).

If you receive SSU Play message notifications (download and use that app, please!), Jamie Anderson, Ella's mother, has volunteered to broadcast tonight's game via FaceBook Live. Please send her a Facebook Friend Request so you can watch the game "live". We'll also have Steve use GameChanger for those who aren't on Facebook; GameChanger will allow families to keep up with the score and play-by-play. Our team name on GameChanger is: EPFastpitch 10U domeball. We'll need to alternate who is broadcasting and who uses GameChanger every week, based on which families attend games. I've got a 4' tripod and mobile phone mount; if someone has a taller tripod and/or wide angle lens attachment (120* is ideal), please let us know and send it with your daughter tonight. We'll make sure to get it returned to you.

Warmups are at 5:00pm tonight; please arrive by (at the latest) 4:55pm and we'll meet in the reception area before entering the dome together as a team. If Braemar Staff allows us to enter early, Chad and I will head in and get set up; Ashley or Steve will wait in the reception area to direct players in as they arrive; they will leave the reception area promptly at 5:00pm, so please don't arrive late.

This isn't at all what we imagined domeball to be like, but COVID has changed everything. We're considering all kinds of possibilities for parents to enjoy watching their daughters play, but ultimately we're focused on giving your daughters experiences that will aide them to become better softball players for spring/summer teams.

We're excited for tonight!

Welcome to 10U Domeball (2020-21)
by posted 10/22/2020

Hello, families!

The coaches have met, and we're excited to be working together for the upcoming domeball season. Coaches Chad Creager and I will head-coach this year's team with Ashley Gorman assisting. As some of you can assume, domeball is indoor softball during what is normally the softball offseason. Other kids might be participating in other sports, some doing nothing, and there are players and families like you, who are committing time, energy and funds for your daughter to continue softball training from the months of OCT through JAN.

Our first practice:

  • TUE 10/27 Practice, 6:00-8:00pm
    • EPHS Dome, 17185 Valley View Road; north of the school, west of the EPHS football field
    • We need a parent meeting! Some of you have played last year, some of you haven't. We'll talk about how domeball works and what to expect through JAN. Let's conduct the Parent Athlete Coach meeting at 6:00 SHARP! Unlike summer/fall, dome space/time is limited, there will be another group ending at 6:00 and another group coming in at 8:00.
    • temps are expected to be chilly outdoors (high 28*), but don't expect the dome to be heated. long sleeve shirt (preferred), with a sweatshirt they can take off if they get too warm, softball pants (don't wear your black game pants), socks and tennis shoes (turf shoes if you've got em). My plan is to get them tired the first night! (but they'll love it)

Also, this is a great time for you to be active with the EP Fastpitch organization. We'll be conducting a Board Meeting (virtually) on MON 10/26. Listen in, observe and feel free to chime in on matters that shape the EP Fastpitch softball program. Then, in our November Board meeting, we'll elect new Board members and Board positions; we'll need new Board members this year who have 8U, 10U and 12U players to shape the future; many current Board members have daughters who have aged up/out. Let me know who is interested!

Let us know if you can't make to the Parent Meeting.
