Registration for all teams in the 2021 Eden Prairie Fastpitch Softball program opens on:

  • February 1, 2021

The registration deadline for summer teams is 11:59:59pm March 7, 2021

Parent Information Meeting

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person meeting is not feasible. We hope to develop some kind of way to reach out to you about how our fastpitch softball program works and for you to have questions answered.

  • TBD

When the Parent Information Meetings have concluded; you may find (or download) the PowerPoint presentation (link not ready).

Softball Skills Clinics

The EPFA conducts player development clinics during the offseason to work on softball skills for new and existing players.  These are conducted on SUN evenings at the Eden Prairie High School Activity Center.

We will be hosting an "Eagles Clinics night with EPHS Softball Players" in February.  This will be a fun night for girls to attend that have not played softball before as well as for our seasoned players.  Fun for all!

Also in February, EPHS Asst Varsity Coach, Jim Bayer, will be hosting his famous fielding clinics on Thursday nights in the EP Dome.

Please watch the website home page for more details as they become available.

EP Fastpitch does not conduct tryouts anymore. Instead, players are evaluated for the skills they possess and the evaluation scores will assist us when creating teams. To prepare them for the Player Evaluations, we will conduct a "Evaluation Preview" Clinic to take players through the same skill tests we use during Evaluations so they know what to expect.

  • Sundays, February 21 and 28, EPHS Dome

More information about our "Evaluation Preview" Clinic will be posted by early February.

Softball Player Evaluations

Prior to the regular season, the EPFPA will evaluate prospective players and assemble teams of varying competition levels. We encourage players to attend our "Eval Prep" Days clinics on:

  • Sunday, February 21 and February 28, 2021

The 2021 Player Evaluations will be conducted on:

  • Sunday, March 7, 2021

Attendance for Player Evaluations is mandatory. Details for Player Evaluations will be provided by mid-February. If, for any reason, you are unable to attend Player Evaluations on this date, contact us.

Look for more information on our website and Facebook page regarding these events, nearer to the actual dates.

Team Selection

After receiving Player Evaluation scoring data, EP Fastpitch will sort through the results to determine the best way to assemble teams. They should complete forming softball teams by the end of the second week of March. Announcements to families regarding the roster will not be made until coaches are found, certified and assigned to teams. It is our goal to have the team's head coach announce team placement to families around March 15th. Players unable to participate in Player Evaluations will be placed to teams at the discretion of the EP Fastpitch Softball Directors.

Prospective First Day of Practice

After teams are formed and coaches are organized, we hope to arrange time and space for coaches to conduct indoor practices (usually at a nearby elementary school gym) as early as Sunday, March 21. The City of Eden Prairie will determine when teans will be allowed to use the fields for outdoor practices. Our hopeful date is Sunday, April 18
