Eden Prairie Fastpitch Association COVID-19 Safety Procedures
General Guidelines – Effective 1/14/2021
No spectators are allowed at practice. If a participant needs assistance due to age, medical condition, or disability one parent, guardian, or adult support person is allowed. Individuals there to provide assistance must check in with the activity supervisor prior to the start of the activity
Face coverings are required for all indoor activities at all times.
Coaches are required to wear a mask and a face shield.
If you are not feeling well or demonstrating any of the symptoms on the screening checklist do not attend practice/game.
If you are awaiting the results of a COVID test you are not to attend practice/game.
If you have had close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days do not attend practice/game. Close contact is defined as any individual who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days prior to the individual testing positive.
During Activity
Facility capacities will be set by the facility owner.
Pods of no more than 25 individuals will be utilized. Smaller pod sizes are desired if can be done.
Pods should not be intermixed.
Face coverings are required for all individuals and must be worn at all times.
Individuals are asked to sanitize hands prior to beginning activities.
Social distancing guidelines must be followed when not on the field of play. Examples include but are not limited to dugouts, bench areas, awaiting next activity.
To the extent possible shared equipment should limited. This does not include softballs.
Coaches/activity supervisors are required to keep rosters of individuals that participated for each activity/game.
After Activity
To avoid crowding/congestion participants are asked to exit the facility at the completion of their activity.
Sanitizing of hands are recommended.
Communication/Reporting
If a participant is unable to attend practice/game they should let their specific coach/ activity supervisor know.
Reporting of a positive COVID test
Any player that tests positive should notify their coach immediately. It is the coaches responsibility to notify the activity supervisor who will than notify the EP Fastpitch COVID Plan Coordinator. MDH guidelines for individuals that are COVID positive.
Any coach that tests positive will notify the activity supervisor who will than notify the EP Fastpitch COVID Plan Coordinator.
Any group impacted by a positive test will be notified. The positive individual will not be identified in any communication.
If a player/coach has had close contact to a positive individual as defined above they will notify the event coordinator who will notify the EP Fastpitch COVID Plan Coordinator. MDH guidelines for individuals that have had close contact.
The EP Fastpitch Plan Coordinator will reach out to the impacted individual to review return to play plans and timelines.
Decisions on the status of a team/activity will be decided upon by the EP Fastpitch COVID Plan Coordinator.
